Richard L. Thies Passes Away

It is with great sadness that we share the news that our senior Shareholder Richard L. Thies passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 10, 2021 in the presence of his loving family. Mr. Thies joined the firm as an associate in 1955 before leaving to serve in the United States Air Force (JAGD) from 1956-1958. He returned as a firm partner in 1958, and continued to play an active role in the firm through this year.

A family service is planned for this week and a memorial service will be planned at a later date, as COVID restrictions permit. Memorial contributions may be made to the Urbana Park District Foundation, the First Presbyterian Church of Urbana, or a charity of the donor’s choice.
