Counsel David Bernthal Re-imagines a Curious Case

Mar 12, 2019 | News

Webber & Thies Counsel David Bernthal continued his promotion of public understanding of our legal system in an op-ed published Sunday in the Champaign-Urbana News-Gazette. The op-ed imagines how a real case from India in which a child sued his parents for giving birth to him might play out in Central Illinois. How would the courts react to an argument that “if we are born without our consent, we should be maintained for our life” and that thus “we should be paid by our parents to live”? Read Judge Bernthal’s thoughts here.
