The Illinois State Bar Association (“ISBA”) honored the recipients of the Board of Governors Award this week, including Webber & Thies Shareholder Daniel Thies. The award recognizes attorneys for exemplary service to the profession or the ISBA and nonlawyers for especially meritorious deeds or service that significantly advances the administration of justice or the goals of the profession or the ISBA. Daniel Thies and Lois Wood received the award for their work as co-chairs of the Rural Practice Initiative (“RPI”). The RPI has successfully connected law students and young attorneys with law firms in rural areas throughout the state, and has gained funding to continue this program into the next year and beyond.
